Looking for a way to support the native pollinators? Most are attracted to native plants that they are familiar with. We have a few of these. Mix a few in with your favorite ornamental flowers. Here's a list of a few native plants for the area:

Purple coneflower or echinacea, dollar plant or nasturtium, snowy milkweed, Common milkweed, blue aster, prairie blazing star, sunflower, annual phlox, hairy balsam root, rudbeckia or blanket flower, yarrow and bee balm.

If your looking for flowers, consider planting larger groups of flowering plants to attract more bees, If you have a small garden area or a few containers, it will be beeeeneficial to local bees. 🐝🐝🐝

Consider planting any color other than white. If you want to provide food for the bees that bloom in our season, this will provide food over a long period of the year, plants for all seasons will provide bees to forage. Sunny protected areas where they aren't overpowered by wind is a great consideration. Inter-planting flowers with your veggies can help increase pollination for a better harvest.
