What's Happening..

This week has been drying out, planting and watering the high tunnel. Jet Star tomatoes haven't started to turn yet, potatoes are close to blooming. Planted this week: watermelon, basil and carrots.

You can order online by 2pm the day before delivery to meet and pick up your order.

Weekly Recipe

Texas Beans

Ingredients:

2 (24 ounce) pork & beans, drained

2 cans butter beans, drained

1 can baby lima beans

2 cans kidney beans, drained

1 lb. Bacon, fried crisp and drippings retained

2 medium onions, cut in slices

1/2 cup brown sugar 

½ cup honey

½ cup cider vinegar

2 Tablespoons dry mustard 

Directions:

  1. Pour all drained beans into a slow cooker or bean pot, set aside.  Saute onions in bacon drippings.  Add brown sugar, honey, vinegar and dry mustard.  
  2. Stir into combined beans.  
  3. Bake in a slow cooker for six plus hours or bake 325, 3 hours.
